How Finn and Shane met. Utterly tragic! It formed a steel strong friendship between them. They were together ever since Shane saved Finn. It was the kind of relationship few understand. Then a trip, crazy and fun, leads them to a new reality. It is the trip they made before they started their adult lifes with jobs in different states. It is the trip that bonds them as a couple, but at the end of it none of them is ready to keep the other from their own future. It is a very endearing, funny, romantic journey as they find themselves. I loved Shay's sense of humor and Finn's dominance. They are Perfect for each other )
I received an ARC for an honest review and had the greatest time reading it!
First I want to say that these boys have a very unhealthy relationship. That very fact destabilizes the rest of the story for me.
Their relationship was forged in the midst of a tragedy and instead of the responsible adults in their lives helping them to find positive, productive, healthy ways to deal with it they just stepped back and let the children handle it as best they can. I find it hard to believe that all those adults, those professionals, thought it was okay for these two boys to spend every waking moment and a lot of sleeping moments together, FOR 10 YEARS! One's single mom and the other's single dad contemplating marriage just so they could conveniently live in the same house -- disturbing.
The story follows the two month, cross-country road trip these college grads take before starting their adult lives, with a country between them. Their dependence on each other will not allow for that kind of separation. I liked the way they carefree hop from one tourist trap to the next, how they actually "see" the country. The progression from friends to lovers was... strange, and the personality flip-flop made it worse. During the day Shane took control and Finn just followed in his wake. Once they settled in for the night Finn became Big Bad Dom with Shane curled up in a submissive ball of "yes master".
I just wanted to grab these boys by the collar and drag them through to the end.

I loved this book. I loved the storyline and how the author developed the characters. The chemistry between Shane and Finn is erotic and steamy and super sweet. I can’t wait to read more books by Anna Claire. I received this free book in exchange for an honest review. I loved how the story starts out with them being in 7th grade with Shane dealing with the loss of his mother; he had only been back to school for seven days when they have a stranger come in and start shooting up the school and everybody there. Shane takes refuge in the boy’s restroom and meets Finn for the first time. Finn is in shock and keeps mumbling about how he bit his tongue when Shane uses his sweatshirt to keep him warm he realizes that Finn has actually been shot in the stomach, and Shane uses his sweatshirt to keep pressure on the wound. Over the next ten years, they have become each other’s support system with Shane being the only one able to calm Finn with his nightmares and panic attacks and Finn gives Shane purpose and somebody to be protective about. And through Finn, Shane gets a new mother who loves him and treats him like her own son.
I loved when they decided to spend two months doing things on their bucket lists before starting their new jobs. I loved that Shane got a bunch of disposable cameras to document their journey. I loved how they kept getting closer and closer on their journey and crossing more boundaries until by the end they know that they love each other but are too afraid to voice their love for each other. They are also too afraid to talk about what they do to each other at night because they are afraid that if they talk about it, then it will stop especially since Shane is supposed to be straight and Finn is bisexual. The scenes between them are erotic and steamy, but sweet at the same time. I love how they go around holding hands, snuggling, and just being a cute couple. I love how Finn has a dominate streak in bed and that Shane enjoys it.
I was super excited when Finn gets a job offer in L.A., and they can stay together, the only problem is their lack of communication with each other. Shane is waiting for Finn to tell him that he wants to stay with him in L.A. and that he loves him. Finn doesn’t want to influence Shane’s decision on whether he should take the job in L.A. or stay with the job in New York City, but because Finn doesn’t communicate that he loves Shane and that he wants to stay in L.A. Shane believes that Finn doesn’t want him and that the greatest act of love is to set them free and so he tells Finn to take the job in New York City. They are both heartbroken and Finn moves to New York and makes a new friend Mason.
Six months later Mason had found a box that had gotten lost when Finn moved into his new apartment and found one of the disposable cameras and had it developed. When Finn sees the pictures, he realizes just how much he still loves Shane and with Masons help realizes that he needs to tell Shane that he loves him, and so they go to L.A. to tell Shane in person. When Finn gets to Shane’s apartment the door is opened by a very attractive girl wearing Finn’s shirt. The shirt that was obviously Shane’s and, of course, he comes to the wrong conclusion when he realizes that the girl is Shane’s type and wearing his clothes, so she has to be his girlfriend. Instead of making sure he turns around and leaves and throws the envelope that he was going to give to Shane in the trash and goes back to the airport.
When Shane wakes up his lesbian roommate, Andie tells him about his strange visitor and shows him the envelope that she had rescued from the trash. Shane tells Andie what had happened, and she sets him straight on their miscommunication and that he needs to go after him and tell him he loves him. So Andie and Shane go to the airport where Shane sees Finn and Mason and goes up and kisses Finn and Finn is so overwhelmed that he starts to have a panic attack, and Shane gets him into a Family share bathroom and gets him calmed down and then they had a passionate encounter in the bathroom and decided what they are going to do now. They end up deciding on meeting in New York City to gather up all of Finn’s stuff and get it shipped to L.A., and they decide to have another bucket list journey.

I absolutely loved this book! A fantastic friends to lovers story.it's best friends on a road trip of fun, goodbye and discovery. It's got your typical miscommunication guy problems and a fantastic tear jerking HEA, super hot love scenes and two lovable dorks. Loved it!!
So very bad. So many typos. The characters are unbelievable. The sex is far fetched . There is one scene where the two main characters (One gay & one straight) are having a deep discussion about discovering about each others sexual likes and dislikes while the are having sex with their respective one night stands. And the one night stands are just there being #@$&ed and saying nothing about this lengthly conversation going on. SOOOO VERY BAD. I literally deleted this from my library.
